THE EUROPEAN DIAGONALS. PROJECT INFO

After several travels through Europe, I wanted, as a photographer, to work on the European territory at twenty seven countries.

To work on this topic, I decided to chose a personal process. I didn't want to realize a political book or touristic guide: I took the side of spontaneity and travelled across Europe with my camera.

I imagined four itineraries crossing the twenty seven countries of the European Union. I called them the European Diagonals. The train was for me the best way to travel: more ecological than plane and it allows to live the travel from inside the country you are crossing.

For the rest, I only tried to get lost in the cities I travelled in, to catch instants through my lense.
Now, I have the wish to share these feelings contained in my pictures to allow everyone to create its own European territority.

It's an opportunity to catch the European issue far from politics and institutions...
